Junior Soca & Calypso Showcase

The Organization of Calypso performing Artistes (OCPA) is recruiting talent for its Junior Soca & Calypso Showcase, a one-hour special showcase for young singers to be held during the Junior Carnival, July 21st at the Scotiabank Toronto Caribbean Carnival at Downsview Park, Toronto.
The showcase will feature ten young artists from ages 8 – 18yrs in one of the highlights of the day’s programming. OCPA invites all interested persons to contact us at:

Singers are asked to submit a CD demo of a new calypso or soca song, along with their contact information. Individuals who do not have CDs demos but would like to be considered can also contact OCPA and discuss alternative ways to assess their ability. All singers chosen to perform will receive performance fees.
The Junior Soca & Calypso Showcase is a chance for young performers to shine before a large audience and gain opportunities for promotion and artistic development. OCPA is a not for profit arts organization that is dedicated to the preservation, promotion and development of calypso and soca.
The Organization of Calypso performing Artistes (OCPA) presents a summer programme of events and activities that includes the Calypso Tents Music Series, the ‘Kaiso 365’ Calypso Monarch Competition and Calypso STARS concert at Harbourfront Centre.
